The last conversation of 2009

I guess there has to be a last for everything.  This is (almost) word-for-word the last conversation I had in 2009.  It kind of put an exclamation point on the whole year.

I was staring up at the sky watching the partial lunar eclipse – which incidentally you folks back home don’t get to see.  The conversation went a-little something like this:

Dude:  Oh hey Harris!  You staying up to ring in the new year?

Me: What?  No, there’s a partial lunar eclipse tonight – check it out.

Dude: Nah, I’m gonna go play cards.

Face, meet palm.

Lack of appreciation for nature? Maybe…or maybe he was gonna win some money playing cards. Who knows. Either way…Happy New Year Tyler.

Let us know what THE FUTURE is like!

hmmmm…perhaps if you had said, “look, the moon is covered over some by a blankey” he would have stopped to check it out…I fear “partial lunar eclipse” may have sounded like something kinky or a fruity mixed drink….
